Meet Paul Scoggins
After Scoggins graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a degree in business management, he went to work on Wall Street; there, he continued his studies in investment and finance at the New York Institute of Finance. In New York, Scoggins worked for both a small investment bank and larger institutions, and he learned how to guide clients toward financial success. “Wall Street taught me how to minimize risk and maximize return for each of my clients,” Scoggins said. “By the time I returned to the South, I had the advantage of experience in larger markets. Now, my clients have an advisor and partner who has seen nearly every side of this business.”
For Scoggins, the perfect portfolio is tax-efficient, risk-efficient, and cost-efficient. “We build relationships and portfolios with staying power. Each client’s portfolio comes with a distinct set of taxes, volatility costs, and expenses,” Scoggins said. “We sit down with our clients and focus on minimizing the often-overlooked cost drags in their portfolios. By reducing the cost drags, we increase the value of our clients’ portfolios over time.”
Scoggins hopes that ICOM becomes his clients’ safe haven for sound, time-tested financial advice. “Growing wealth involves patience and experience,” Scoggins said. “Fortunately, my team and I have plenty of both.”
When he is not interacting with clients at ICOM, Scoggins devotes his time to several different projects. He serves as president and board member of Permian Energy, board member of PB Services, and board member of Longbranch Retreat and Recovery. Scoggins adores spending time with his wife, Shelley; their two children, David and Francesca; and their two dogs, Winston and Chip.
